Congratulations on your marriage.
Depending on where your would be spouse is ,there are two methods.
1. If she is outside the country , you would have to get her H-4 at the nearest consulate.
2. If she is in the country , and assuming you want to change her status to H4 , you can do it by filing the change of status form with USCIS.
Either way I do not think you would be requiring a lawyer. It is pretty straight forward. All the required instructions are on the form.

The other day had a friend at my place and I felt like throwing him out of my house. These guys are crying by their asses days and night. Believe me he is the guys whose wife drives him to work because his DL expired and PA DOT is not issuing him License because he has less than 1 year visa. But he was talking this government, that government..... I asked him to keep quiet and watch, if we are successful you'll get a free ride, if not then keep crying through your ass, you're doing it anyway!!!!

Asking for not revoking I140 would be helpful. Also make sure that you at least have copies of the I140 approval notice and I485 receipt notices.
Copies of your Perm labor certification would also be helpful as you may need to consult them for looking at the job responsibilities used for your original labor.

Actually I had this guy�s work (http://www.madsberg.dk/) in the back of my head when I did the stamp. I like his work and think he is really talented. BTW he works with these guys (http://www.gulstue.dk/) if anyone should happen to be interested...

@K-man: If you look at the first of the above links you�ll why I chose the gradients - although I see now that there might be a liiiiittle too much red in the composition. Point taken though - thnx ;)
@Fasterthanlight: The font is not Times New Roman. It�s Charlemagne Std but I think I know where you are getting at - it looks pretty much too standard. Another point taken into consideration - thnx ;)

Here is my situation. Have H1B expiring on June 2008. Planning to Renew. I-140 approved last Month. I485 applied and pending for more than 180 days. Have EAD, AP.
Now - I am planning to switch to another job for Title , Hike. Not happy with the current company.
I have the following question :
1) If I switch,what will happen to my I-485 / I-140. do I need to reapply ? . do I lost my priority date.
2) If I go to India, what will happen to My 485/140. Can I change AOS to consular processing.
Please advise.

My lawyer sent out the LC Substitution/140/485/EAD on July 2nd and said that all these can be filed concurrently and he wanted to take advantage of the dates being current.
I read in several forums that it's necessary to have the LC substitution stage completed before filing for 140/485. Is this true?
Is it possible that there are more chances of LC substitution denial? If so, what are my options?

Did anyone (or spouse) applied for Social Security No. who were using ITIN before, for tax purposes. I have applied for 485 and EAD and plan to apply for my wife's Social Security once I get the EAD. Are there any tax filing implications? How to switch to this new number and still be able to e-file next year (assuming I get EAD this year)?
You are worrying about something too early.
Anyways, next year, you need to write your wife's SSN instead of ITIN in the field on 1040 form where it says "SSN". Usually, in absence of SSN we mention ITIN. but after you get SSN, use SSN.

Wanted to apply for Advance Parole (second time).
Is NSC issuing 2 year AP's ?
Wondering if any body got Advance Parole for 2 years from NSC.
Also, I appreciate if any one can share their experince about INFOPASS to get Advance Parole in case of emergency
(if one did not apply for AP & need to travel urgently).

PD isn't current, but just check i-485 online status, showing "Document production or Oath Ceremony" (i.e., the last cycle).

And what do you know, it got approved today and that allowes me to file for AOS this month. It was a bit of a gamble with money but it worked!!! :cool:

Depends on where you are going and the route you are taking. You have to clarify transit visa issues. Many airlines will require a transit visa if you don't have the green card.

I don't think that's possible. USCIS wants a physical address where you stay and will not deliver mail to PO box. In fact there is no forwarding of documents sent by USCIS too. They are all returned to USCIS.
This issue I think originates from the fact that USCIS wants to know where all aliens are physically staying.
I wanted to have a PO box to avoid any issues with mail theft and my lawyer said its not possible.
Anything different coming from your lawyer would be welcome.

However, I know of few cases where people received green cards at their po boxes. If you call up custmer service, they will be happy to change the I-485 addresses to po box addresses.
