I had absolutely no problems, it's all smooth as long as you carry all the supporting docs. I did have a shitty experience at JFK -- there are few morons at the POE you can't do much about.

As long as your job is in similar field, you are ok.

If you are not using EAD why renew it? Unless you are one of the people who applied under the new scheme (free EAD and AP for life), you are just wasting $340 + $305 = $645 (per person).
You can easily wait till you move to new place before applying - if at all you want to apply. If your EAD & AP have expired, I am not sure if the new EAD/ AP will be considered as a "new" application or a "renewal".

As far as I know, one is only required to file taxes on foreign accounts if they have $10000 or more in their accounts at any time during the financial year. Please correct me if I am wrong. Also, check: Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR) (http://www.irs.gov/businesses/small/article/0,,id=148849,00.html)

I don't think you really need the physical card. Canadian Immigration officer simply told me that i am a landed immigrant now, the entry stamp and document attached to the passport are enough for me to come and go freely as long as i live in CA for 2 in every 5 years. So there is no additional advantage from giving an temporary address and getting a card.
Yes there is. Without the card, you cannot "freely come and go" as you put it. If you fly to Canada you will have to apply for an entry permit if you do not have your PR card. They will not let you board the plane otherwise. You will either need the PR card or the entry permit. Check the CIC web site for more info on this. What you say used to be true prior to 2002 before they introduced the new PR card but its different now.

No Bro. I told them when i came to US in 2000 the salary was 1/20 or 1/25 of what I can make in US. So US was an attractive option. Now the salaries in India are close to 10 lacs per annum, it turns out to be 1/4 or 1/5 of what i make here. With less taxes, less cost of living and facilities in india good enough i guess i live a happier life in India than here.
SO i was presenting him my point that moving back to India may turn out to be a wonderful decision than getting stuck here. If every highly qualified immigrant take this decision and leave, US will be at loss. I did manage to convince him that losing us is a bad thing for US economy. That is how he managed to portray my story in a good way.

My lawyer followed the same route. After getting EB2 I-140 approval, they send a letter to capture the PD from EB3 case and interlink the I-485. The letter was sent out around May 10th, no updates on I485 so far.

when u file for the new 140..u are supposed to send in theold approved 140 and request for porting.. thats how my attorney did..
finally i got the 140 from my employer..and my date was ported successfully..so its all good.

Is I-140 approval and date porting done concurrently? my attorney told me that old priority date can be ported only when new I-140 is approved, we have to file an application to port date seperately. Correct me if i am wrong OR my attorney is just trying to drag it longer.

with all due respect, I really doubt if this is the bet way to get people to donate. Calling people cheap is not a nice thing and generally not recommended.

Howzzat there is a CLEAR clause in that statement
"If we cannot even contribute $10 a month". There is a clear IF in that statement. And yes after all that IV has done and all the advantage IV members have obtained FREE OF COST just by sitting on the fence (on their behinds), while the core team, who by the way have full time jobs AND families, slogged MORE THAN FULL TIME to get IV's very first goal to be achieved, THEN I say I am FULLY JUSTIFIED in calling those people CHEAP.
